VA Guaranteed Loan – Certificate of Eligibility (COE)
I have been asked how to receive a VA Certificate of Eligibility (VA Form 1880). So, I thought I would just make a short and sweet answer, since VA Guaranteed Loans are an exceptional way for veterans to purchase a new home. It is very easy to get the certificate, but there is no real reason to get it until you are ready to start looking for a home since the lender you are working with will need a new one.
Most of the time, we are able to request the COE on line and it only takes a short time. This is called a Web LGY. However, there are times that the request will need to be submitting on a completed VA Form 26-1880. I can give that to you. It needs to be sent into the Eligibility Center for processing along with proof of service, most often a DDform214.
Reserve and National Guard components do not use the DD Form 214. If you need to know what is needed with the Reserves or National Guard and you are not on active duty, give me a call, 541-342-7576/541-221-3455 Cell or e-mail at eugeneloanguy@gmail.com.
